Bettie's Box Office: Fast And Furious 6 Review

Updated: Sunday, May 26 2013, 06:47 PM CDT

When a movie franchise gets to the point of just putting a new number at the end of the title, then audiences go in knowing what to expect. Fast and Furious 6 delivers all of its basic ingredients: adrenaline, humor, and incredible bodies (on both cars and humans). The over-the-top stunt list must have come from a bunch of teen-age boys who started every sentence with: "Wouldn't it be awesome if_______?" How else to explain a massive tank in a high-speed chase heading down the wrong side of a crowded highway while it crushes cars and blows away a bridge? The best way to describe F&F6 is high octane ridiculous fun.

Take a closer look at Fast and Furious 6:

You'd think the F&F crew would be just kicking back after they pulled off the big heist and went their separate ways in the last movie. But Dom (Vin Diesel) still senses that there's some unfinished business. Meanwhile, Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson aka "The Rock") is chasing a group of mercenary drivers across the globe. One of them is the girl that Dom thought he'd never see again. So he puts together his old team with Hobbs' promise of pardons if they’re successful.

The best way to see this movie is on the big screen and in a packed theater, because that means you'll be in the company of Fast and Furious fans who frequently break out in applause and offer shouts of encouragement to the characters. This is a big-bucket popcorn movie that really makes it feel like summer. You don't even have to wait until the end of the credits to get a glimpse of F&F7 (which brought another round of applause from the fans in the theater).

Fast and Furious 6 is in theaters now and is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence, and action and mayhem throughout, some sexuality and language.
