Following last year's debut of the world's first "Improvised Play Festival," the Hideout Theatre will again host the now-annual event with more shows and more improvisational theatre troupes.   The second annual "Improvised Play Festival" plays the downtown venue on April 12 through 14.

The schedule features the Hideout Theatre's own repertoire of story-telling improv troupes, along with new formats from other theaters in Austin, San Francisco, Seattle and Boston.  The highlight of the weekend features San Francisco-based troupe is Improv Playhouse, performing their award-winning improvised play format, The Naked Stage, and their and improvised movie format, The Naked Screen.

Other shows in the festival include Seattle's Bunker 13 - an improvised drama set in the Vietnam War - Gnap Theater Project's Steam, Rose-Colored Goggles, and the Flight of the Victoriana, award-winning David Mamet-inspired Confidence Men, local troupe Parallelogramophonograph and many more.

Performances will run hourly on Thursday and Friday from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Saturday through midnight.  Tickets range from $5 to $12.

The Hideout Theatre is located at 617 Congress Avenue in downtown Austin.  For more information and a complete performance schedule, call (512) HIDE-OUT (443-3688) or visit www.ImprovisedPlayFestival.com.
