UT Welcomes New Students With "Gone To Texas" Event

The University of Texas begins classes on Wednesday. But before that happens UT President Bill Powers is gathering all new students to welcome them to The 40 Acres. The invitation is out to the 7,000 freshmen, transfer students and new graduate students to gather on the main mall under the UT Tower to learn more about the university's tradition and 1,000 student organizations they can join to broaden their UT experience. "Gone to Texas" will also feature the Longhorn Band and fireworks.
