Central Texas Weighs In On Gov Shutdown

Updated: Monday, October 7 2013, 06:37 AM CDT
It's week two of our government shutdown. President Obama has said the only thing that will end it is to pass a budget without bipartisan strings attached. As Republicans and Democrats butt heads on Capitol Hill, Americans don't have a job up go to. We asked Austinites, "If you could say one thing to Congress about this shutdown, what would it be?"

""I would just say we vote whenever we get a chance and we revote whenever it comes up and other than that we're kind of at their mercy. I would like them to make a decision before it effects my students loans "  Curtis Thornburg

"All these old men, come on get it together." Shinead Washington
"I would like to see all the national parks reopened and if not I would like to see all the employees compensated " Annie Laimbiase

It will be no doubt be a busy week in Washington as the looming debt ceiling quickly approaches. Congress will have to raise the debt ceiling by October 17th or risk defaulting on payments.
