Cold Weather Car Tips To Keep Drivers Safe

Frigid temperatures in Central Texas have cars working overtime and they made need a little TLC to operate properly. Mechanics say maintenance is necessary to ensure you get to your destination safely.


AAA recommends drivers check their cars batteries and inspect the anti-freeze and test its freezing point. Extreme temperatures can also impact your tire pressure, so double check your tires are properly inflated. AAA also warns against mixing radial tires with other tire types and suggests car owners keep their gas tank at least half full to avoid a gas line freeze up.


Also remember not to start your car in a closed area because of the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.
