Driver Loses Control, Crashes Into South Austin Car Dealership

Several vehicles at a south Austin car dealership were damaged early Wednesday morning.
Officials say the call came in close to 1:30 a.m. when a driver traveling south on I-35 lost control of the vehicle.
According to Austin Police, the driver veered across the median and on to the frontage road. The driver of the Nissan Altima then crashed into numerous cars at South Point Hyundai, located at 4610 North I-35 Frontage Road.
In total, 18 cars at the dealership were damaged. Officials at the scene estimate the damage to be near $700,000.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene and has not been found. Austin Police are investigating.
