Floods Badly Damage Youth Sports Complex

Updated: Monday, October 14 2013, 06:19 AM CDT
This morning Austinites are cleaning up after severe flooding, and overnight we're getting a glimpse at a badly damaged youth baseball complex in Oak Hill. The storm knocked down fences and caused extensive flooding at the Oak Hill Youth Sports Association complex. On Monday morning, the gates were locked and officials are asking people not to try to clean up or repair the park, as it's just too dangerous at this point. On Monday morning, the park's website says their fall season is on hold indefinitely. Moving forward, they'll be holding a clean up day soon and a community building on how to rebuild.

Overnight while most of the water had gone down, flooding was still a problem in some spots. Just a few feet away from the ballpark, water continued rushing over the road as of 6 a.m.

Hays County also had a handful of flooded roads including one we found closed near Dripping Springs.

Staff at Zilker Park told us parts of the park were still flooded after heavy flooding cancelled Austin City Limits Music Festival on its final day, with gates blocking off nearby trails.

As of 5 a.m., Austin Energy crews had restored power for all but four customers.Floods Badly Damage Youth Sports Complex
