Nau That's A Drug Store!

Please forgive the pun in the headline. I couldn’t resist. But when you step into Nau's Enfield Drug Store it’s clear you're stepping into the past. For generations of UT grads, it reminds them of their college days.
Owner Lambert Labay has been along for the ride for nearly 50 of the store's 60-year history. He says, “I do have a lot of people who have gone to school and come back. They’d come into the store and say, 'Wow! It's just like when I went to school. Nothing's changed…. They'll also say, 'Don't Change anything.'”
The iconic West Austin drug store has become a cool retro place to visit. they even sell souvenirs. And one thing that hasn't changed is the old soda fountain. Nau's still mixes it old school.
At age 72, Labay could have retired years ago. But he says he still looks forward to each day. He says his store still makes be happy and his work still makes people better.
