Spotlight Shines On Local FX Artist

Austin’s own Hollywood special fx artist, Matt Valentine, is putting the scary in this Halloween season.

Valentine was recently featured on SyFy Channel’s hit show Face Off where contestants compete for the best special effects make-up.

Born and raised in Austin, Valentine is a completely self taught artist. He got his start as the former Art director and creative mind behind well know haunted attraction, The House of Torment.

October 28-30 he will team up with the Paul Mitchell School to offer horror, mask and makeup workshop classes to Austinites. He will also be making appearances at local schools and charity events.

Valentine runs his own special fx studio in Austin, Global Fear Enterprises, where he creates masks, costumes and makeup for the motion picture horror industry.

With a huge national following, Valentine has been praised by famed Hollywood makeup artists Glenn Hetrick from the Hunger Games and Ve Neil from Pirates of the Caribbean and Spiderman.
