SWAT Standoff Ends In Northeast Austin

Updated: Monday, April 14 2014, 08:01 AM CDT

An overnight SWAT standoff in Northeast Austin, has ended just before 4am, with no suspect in custody.  But police say the investigation, is far from over.

According to Austin Police, the call originally came in around 9:30pm Sunday, as a disturbance call.  Police tell KEYE, that's when a man called saying he had reportedly been shot at and assaulted in a house in the 74-hundred block of Bethune.

When the standoff finally came to an end, after the use of loud distraction devices, and negotiators calling the phone line - SWAT members say the person they were looking for was not inside.

However, SWAT Team members tell us, two other people were inside the home...a man and a woman - no word yet on why they didn't come out when negotiators first began trying to reach people inside the house.

We're told the victim, who originally made the call to APD was treated by EMS at the scene - but now further details were released regarding his injuries.

Keep it here for more on this developing story.
