Verizon Clarifies Future Of Unlimited Data Plans & Google Accessorizes Interactive Glasses

Updated: Monday, May 21 2012, 08:00 AM CDT
Verizon took a lot of heat last week when it said it was going to Transition all of its unlimited plan customers to tiered plans where you get what you pay for.  Now it says the unlimited plans will continue for the life of your device.  But if you want a new phone *and* an unlimited data plan, get ready to pay the price.  You can get unlimited data as long as you pay full price for the phone.  That means those who accept the huge markdown when they sign a new contract with Verizon will not be eligible for an unlimited data plan on that phone.

And Google is looking to improve the user interface for its proposed Project Glass. If you haven't heard of this project, it would have you wear your computer like a pair of goggles and control it with your voice.  But now Google has apparently decided voice command may not be enough.  They’ve just filed patents looking at a ring or some other kind of jewelry to use as a pointer for its interactive glasses.  So we'll be talking to ourselves *and* waving our hand around like Green lantern.
