Texas Gov. Perry Blasts Obama At Conservative Conference

Updated: Saturday, August 3 2013, 04:13 PM CDT
The American Conservation Union began the annual Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington on Thursday. Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who dropped his presidential bid last month, spoke to the crowd on his familiar themes about health care and abortion.

“Last year I signed a state budget that ended all state funding for Planned Parenthood in my state.

President Obama has invalidated a waiver that provides healthcare for more than one hundred thousand women in my state. They literally set aside funding for preventative health care because we refused to subsidize abortion.

Washington has no right to dictate how or from whom you receive healthcare, what your children learn in schools or how you clean your air or protect their environment, that is not their role. And if we elect leaders from the Republican Party who preserve the current state of the bureaucracy, that command and control policy form Washington dc, we get the government we deserve.

If it's halftime in America, I'm fearful of what the finals score's going to be if we let this president start the second half as a quarterback.”Texas Gov. Perry Blasts Obama At Conservative Conference
