Wendy Davis Takes Advantage Of Early Voting In Texas Primaries

Updated: Tuesday, February 18 2014, 12:06 PM CST

One high profile candidate quickly took advantage of the first day of early voting in the March 4 Texas primaries today.

Democratic State Sen. Wendy Davis cast her ballot this morning. Her campaign tweeted the announcement along with a photo of the grinning gubernatorial candidate wearing the iconic "I voted" sticker.

Davis is expected to waltz to her party's nomination against token opposition from retired photographer and Corpus Christi activist Reynaldo Madrigal.

Early voting runs through Feb. 28. The deadline to request a ballot by mail is Friday. Photo identification is required to vote in person.
