UPDATED: 1 Killed In NE Austin Motorcycle Crash

Updated: Wednesday, August 13 2014, 03:25 PM CDT

Wed. 1:50 p.m. UPDATE: Investigators say at around 7 p.m. a gray 2007 Infiniti was traveling westbound in the 2800 block of E. Parmer Lane when it turned into Samsung, which is on the south side of the roadway, failing to yield the right-of-way to a black 2014 Yamaha motorcycle.

The motorcycle crashed into the passenger side of the Infinity, killing the driver of the motorcycle immediately. The passenger of the Infinity was transported with non-life threatening injuries, police say.

Investigators say alcohol is not a factor in this case and no criminal charges are expected to be filed.

The identity of the motorcycle driver has not been released.

This is Austin's 33rd fatal traffic crash and the 40th fatality of 2014. At this time in 2013, there were 52 fatality crashes and 53 fatalities.

A man is dead after a motorcycle and car collided in Northeast Austin Tuesday evening.

It happened at around 7 p.m. at the intersection of East Parmer Lane and Samsung Boulevard, about three miles east of I-35.

Austin-Travis County EMS says the driver of the motorcycle -- identified only as a man in his 30s -- was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others from the vehicle are being evaluated.

Further details on the crash were not immediately available.

We have a crew on the way to the scene and we will update this story as we learn more.
