The Austin Police Department has released a statement regarding a Facebook video that has gone viral in the past 24 hours. The shaky video, from quite a distance away, shows a police encounter in East Austin during a traffic stop. The man that posted it says two men were shot -- but Austin police say bean bags were fired at an occupant of the car.

According to police, the incident happened Tuesday, Aug. 19, at around 12:30 p.m. in the 1600 block of Ashberry Dr., just west of Berkman Drive and south of Hwy 290.

Police say they conducted a high risk stop and during the enforcement contact several less-lethal bean bags were discharged and directed toward an occupant of the stopped vehicle.

On the Facebook video, the man who recorded the video claimed that one of the men had been shot by APD officers.  But APD says no deadly force was used. Police say dash cam videos were on and videotaping the incident, but due to the pending criminal charges, the videos will not be released at this time.

Police say Barry Dockery, 22, Micheal Brown, 38, and Jeffrey Oyewale, 30, were arrested and charges filed in the incident include possession of a controlled substance, tampering with evidence and driving while license invalid.
