APD Searching For Downtown Burglary Suspect

Police are asking for the public's help identifying a man they say burglarized two Downtown Austin businesses last month.

Investigators say the burglaries happened on Thursday, June 19 from noon to 3:40 p.m. at two office buildings.

Police say the suspect first forced entry into an office space located at 816 Congress Avenue and left the scene on foot with a rolling cart. He had the rolling cart with him when he forced entry.

Later the same day he walked into the building on 300 W. 6th Street, went to a floor that was under renovation and stole computer equipment. He fled the scene on foot again with a rolling cart, investigators say.

He was last seen at 7th and Lavaca streets.

He is described as:

- White male

- Mid 40s

- 200 lbs

- Receding hairline

- Glasses
