Dog Shot By Hays County Deputies Sunday Morning

Updated: Sunday, June 15 2014, 09:23 PM CDT

Hays County Deputies shot and killed a dog acting aggressively in Dripping Springs early Sunday morning.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at a 911 call at about 12:15 a.m. at the 300 block of Harmon Hills Cove.  The altercation was between a property owner and a tenant.

The deputies were invited into the residence, where a pit bull immediately charged aggressively at them.

The officials backed out into the yard but the dog continued to charge, attempting to bit the officers.  After unsuccessfully trying to kick away the animal, one of the deputies fired at the dog, killing it.

Neither of the deputies was injured.

The original call, an aggravated assault case, remains under investigation.
