Dog Shot By New Braunfels Police

Officers in New Braunfels shot and killed a dog Friday night while investigating a trespass call.

According to police, officers responded to the 1800 block of South Seguin Street in reference to a suspicious female possibly trespassing on private property.

Officials arrived to find a 40 –year-old female trespassing.  As officers walked to her, the woman’s dog, which was not restrained, became aggressive and charged the officers.

The dog, which appeared to be a pit bull, was shot by both officers.

The dog died at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation and the New Braunfels Police Department could face charges relating to having an unrestrained animal as well as Criminal Trespass.
