Updated: Saturday, August 9 2014, 01:44 PM CDT

A tragic crash into a cell phone store pins an elderly man to the wall.

Surveillance video inside the Verizon store in Port St. Lucie, FL, captures a terrifying few seconds for the three people inside.

93-year-old Thomas Ochalek ended up pinned into the wall and critically injured.

The driver, Helen House, was able to walk away.

“I’m praying for him because when I came in here, he's laying on the ground and I just kept saying are you alright you know. They told me to move away.”

82-year-old Helen House feels incredible guilt, confused by why when she ended up inside the store. She kept her foot on the gas still, even then.

A devout Christian, Helen sat outside the store praying for his recovery moments after the crash.

The 93-year-old Ochalek, an army World War 2 veteran, was pinned and conscious for up to 20 minutes from the crash.

Once pulled from the wreckage, Ochalek was flown to a trauma center with critical injuries.

Helen says she's got a good driving record, but confused the brake with the gas..

The store has more than $15,000 in damage. Her car, thousands in damage as well.

Ochalek recently went to Washington DC with local firefighters for an Honor Flight. He's recovering from surgery at the Treasure Coast Trauma center.
