Lost Class Ring Found 60 Years Later in West Texas Lake

Updated: Tuesday, July 8 2014, 03:56 PM CDT

A college ring, lost for six decades, has finally returned to the owner's finger.

Addie Elizabeth Clark got the class ring when she graduated from Howard Payne University in 1953. When it slipped off her finger and sank to the bottom of O.C. Fisher Lake in San Angelo, Clark thought it was gone forever.

Then, a few months ago, Lindsay Waddell was at the lake, which, now, because of the drought, is at half-capacity. Something shiny caught her eye, it was Clark's ring.

With the help of officials at Howard Payne, Waddell tracked down Clark, and returned the ring over the weekend. "I love you for finding my ring, and for taking time to find out who it belongs to. It's a miracle. That doesn't happen often." "No problem," Waddell responds

Clark says the ring is extra special because she was the first person in her family to get a college degree.
