Updated: Tuesday, June 17 2014, 10:11 PM CDT
Manor high school was briefly locked down on Tuesday due to a student in possession of a BB gun.

On June 17 at approximately 12:00 p.m. Manor police were flagged down by a parent who had just left picking up her student from Manor High School. The concerned parent advised officers that she had observed a black male subject in the school courtyard with a handgun.

Manor Police quickly responded to the school ordering the lockdown of the Manor High School campus and the two adjacent campuses (Manor Middle School & Manor Elementary School).

Surveillance video on the school grounds confirmed a student walking on a sidewalk along the courtyard displaying what appeared to be a black handgun. Officers quickly confirmed the student’s identity with school staff and spoke to witness students.

One witness came forward and advised that he took the weapon from the subject and confirmed to officers that the weapon was in-fact a BB gun. The parents of the student were contacted and Officers met up with the suspect who had left the campus prior to the lockdown. The weapon was confiscated and confirmed as a BB gun.

The case has been turned over to Manor Investigators and the Travis County Attorney's OfficeManor H.S. Locked Down Due to Student w/ BB Gun
