Updated: Friday, August 8 2014, 03:53 PM CDT
Austin Police are seeking information on the driver who allegedly hit a cyclist and then fled the scene.

The crash happened on August 1 at 12:45 p.m near Airport Boulevard and East 12th St.

Police say a boy was riding his bicycle in the crosswalk at the time of the crash. The juvenile did have a white crossing light, which gave him the right of way.

Police say a maroon Chevrolet Lumina was traveling westbound on E. 12th St and then turned southbound onto Airport Blvd. before striking the boy.

The boy was knocked off his bike and police say the driver initially stopped and got out of his car, but then fled the scene.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, in his 30s, with a heavy build. He also has a silver nose ring piercing, police say.

The first 3 letters of the license plate are CSX.

The boy had non-life threatening injuries.

Anyone with information or who may have witnessed this crash is asked to call APD’s Leaving the Scene Unit at 512-974-6935.
