Updated: Wednesday, July 2 2014, 10:40 AM CDT

A Round Rock man pleaded guilty in federal court Wednesday morning to aiding terrorists.

Rahatul Khan, 23, pled guilty to conspiring to provide material support and resources to terrorists. FBI investigators say from March 2011 to January 2012, Khan allegedly conspired with others to recruit persons to travel overseas to support terrorist activities including committing violent jihad.

During the plea hearing Khan admitted that he intended to provide a co-conspirator individuals who would be good candidates to travel to Somalia to participate in violent jihad overseas.

He faces up to 15 years in prison. A sentencing date has not yet been set.

Michael Wolfe, 23, was arrested the same day as Khan earlier this month in a separate investigation. He pleaded guilty last week to providing material support to terrorists. His sentencing date has also not yet been set.
