San Marcos Fugitive Found In Houston

Updated: Thursday, July 3 2014, 08:33 AM CDT

Clemente Davila is part of the Texas Ten Most Wanted, a fugitive on the run since March 2013, but after being featured on KEYE TV's Marshals Most Wanted segment tipsters started calling.

"We followed up on those tips, they led us to San Marcos initially, we conducted some interviews and followed up the information provided by the tipster on those interviews which led us to Houston," says U.S. Marshals Supervisory Deputy Hector Gomez.

U.S. marshals found Davila inside an apartment in Houston Wednesday morning.

Davila, 27, was convicted of sexually assaulting a 12-year old girl and sentenced in November 2006.

He served five years and received ten years of probation but after his release he failed to comply with sex offender registry in Hays County.

He was last seen in March 2013 -- he's was also wanted on a marijuana possession and failure to appear in Grimes County.

"He was a danger to the public and it was definitely important to get his profile out there to the public to try and get him off the streets," says Trooper Robbie Barrera with the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Now, he's behind bars, thanks to your tips.
