Texas Boy Gets Wish Granted From Make A Wish Foundation

Updated: Wednesday, July 30 2014, 11:41 AM CDT
KEMPNER, Tx. (KWTX)--- Antonio Laguna, 8, is a young man who wants to grow things and help others. But for the last year and a half of his life, he's been in and out of the hospital.

Antonio was diagnosed with a rare disease that currently has no cure.

But this week, it was a real dream come true for Antonio.

After walking outside of his Kemper home, Antonio was anxious to see the big surprise that was waiting for him.

The surprise? A Greenhouse! Antonio loves to garden.

Some Fort Hood Soldiers and many others worked to make Antonio's wish possible.  "It makes me feel great and all these people that helped me. It was great," he said.

It was his only request from the Make a Wish Foundation as he battles rapid on-set obesity.

He even filled the hearts of many when he told them why this was his wish. "Not just for myself but for other people.  To help other people and everyone in the give away money to other people that don't have food," Antonio said.

Antonio is one of 75 children ever diagnosed with this extremely rare disease in the last 50 years.

Doctors told the Laguna's the oldest anyone has ever survived was at age 24. Now this family is taking things one day at a time so Antonio can enjoy the things he likes most. Texas Boy Gets Wish Granted From Make A Wish Foundation
