Travis Co. Sheriff's Office Searches For Victim Of Crash

Updated: Thursday, August 28 2014, 05:03 PM CDT
The Travis County Sheriff's Office is looking for a victim of a crash that happened last week.

The crash happened on Thursday around 6:40 p.m. at West Pecan Street and Central Commerce Drive between Pflugerville and Austin.

Police say the victim in the crash was stopped at a traffic light when on West Pecan Street, when they were struck from behind.

Police say the suspect vehicle backed up and fled from the scene.  Two Sheriff’s Deputies witnessed the crash and chased the suspect vehicle. Police say the driver of the vehicle was then involved in a second crash in the City of Austin. The driver was taken into custody and has been charged with Felony, Failure to Stop and Render Aid, for the second collision and Felony Evading. The driver is being held on two $50,000.00 bonds.

When the deputies returned to the original crash location, the first victim was no longer there, a press release said.

The Sheriff’s Office is attempting to identify the first victim to document the damage and to see if there were any injuries.

There are no charges pending against the victim.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Deputy Paul Cossette at the Traffic Investigation Office, 512-854-4321.
