UPDATED: Burnet Co. Tornado Rated EF-2

3:30 p.m. UPDATE: The tornado has been rated an EF-2 -- meaning winds were between 111-130 mph, according to National Weather Service officials.

EARLIER: 

Thursday night storms caused major damage in the central Texas region, including a tornado in Burnet County.

According to the Burnet County Emergency Operations Center spokesperson Jim Barho, a tornado touched down near Bertram. Several houses were damaged.

On Friday morning, the Burnet County EOC and National Weather Service will conduct damage assessment to determine the strength of the tornado, starting in Bertram and moving north along Ranch Road 1174.
