Upgrades Leave A Central Austin Neighborhood Without Water

Updated: Wednesday, August 6 2014, 03:38 PM CDT
A central Austin neighborhood is left without water while crews preform upgrades.

The neighborhood affected is around 38th street and Jefferson Street in Central Austin.

Jason Hill, Austin Water Utility, says 900 customers will not have water for most of Wednesday due to upgrades to the drainage system to help with local flooding.

Austin Water Utility is upgrading water and wastewater lines.

Hill says the area is mainly residential but may include a few businesses.

AWU was able to provide temporary water service to the Dialysis Center so no medical treatments would be affected.

AWU expects water service to return sometime Wednesday afternoon but say they cannot specify an exact time.
