The SXSW music and interactive festivals are almost here. Wednesday Austin city departments laid out their security plans for the expected crowds. (CBS Austin)

For the next 10 days, Austin will become the center of the tech world with a special focus on politics.

Many notable speakers will take the stage at South by Southwest, including former Vice President Joe Biden who is expected to talk about his efforts to help end cancer on Sunday.

Cecile Richards from Planned Parenthood will speak on Friday. Strange Fruit, a film about Michael Brown, an 18-year-old shot and killed by a police officer in Ferguson, MO, is set to premier on Saturday. The film will discuss the fateful day told through the eyes of Brown's parents.

Over 40 events will discuss the effects of the Trump administration and the roll technology plays in politics.

During the interactive portion of SXSW, the public will have a chance to see the future of Cap Metro. Festival goers will have a chance to ride along in a 12-passenger self-driving public transportation mini-bus.

To keep up with everything happening throughout the two-week festival, you can download the SXSW Go Mobile app.
