Authorities are looking for a woman who was caught with a million dollars’ worth of cocaine in Williamson County and is now on the run.

An investigation revealed that Sandra Caldron was moving drugs from South Texas to Dallas. Along the way, Williamson County Sheriff's Office deputies caught her.

The arrest happened after Calderon was pulled over on I-35 for driving in the passing only lane.

“She was on that left-hand lane for quite some time and traffic stop was initiated,” said

During the stop, a deputy knew something was off.

“Suspicious behavior, nervousness, stories not matching up,” Filla said.

The deputy asked for permission to search the vehicle, which was granted. With the help of a K9, officers found the drugs.

“This cocaine was hidden in different compartments secret different compartments within the vehicle,” Filla said.

The cocaine weighed approximately 68.2 pounds, according to reports from the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.

“Which has a street value of a little over a million dollars,” Filla said.

Calderon was arrested and taken to a federal detention facility in Bastrop. She later pled guilty to federal drug charges.

“She was released on pretrial release where she posted bond,” Filla said.

But Calderon disappeared. Authorities believe she fled to Mexico.

“There is nothing indicating that she is immediately here in the Austin area,” Filla said.

Despite that, the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force believes someone in Central Texas might know exactly where she is.

“Speed up that process of extradition to bring her back to the United States to face her punishment,” Filla said.
