2012: The Year of the Rosses?

Updated: Friday, February 10 2012, 02:31 PM CST
Next Sunday, former Longhorn Aaron Ross will play in his second Super Bowl in just four years. And that could mean big things for his biggest fan.

Next week, as the host city of Super Bowl 46, Indianapolis will be the center of the football world. Meanwhile, Sanya Richards-Ross, wife of New York Giants cornerback Aaron Ross, will be traveling to what seems like most of the world.

"In the next 14 days, I'll go from Austin to Waco then to Orlando then I come back to Austin for a little bit, then to Indianapolis, then back to Austin, then to New York," says Richards-Ross as she rattles off her itinerary.

It's not your typical Super Bowl week, but then again, Richards-Ross is not your typical football wife.

As her husband prepares to play in his second Super Bowl, Sanya is preparing to run in her third Olympic games.

"It's such a great feeling because I do train so hard Monday through Friday," says Richards-Ross. "On Sundays, I'm allowed to go and be a fan, and a fan of my own husband. He inspires me so much."

Not that Sanya needed any more reason to cheer for her husband on his playoff run, but the last time Ross and the Giants made the Super Bowl (2008), Sanya won Olympic gold seven months later.

So as Aaron aims for his second Super Bowl title in four seasons, Sanya plans on carrying her own weight. When her husband is through doing his thing at the center of the football world, she plans on outrunning the best in the world this summer in London.

"I think it's the year of the Rosses, so I just have to do my part now."2012: The Year of the Rosses?
