Bob Goes 1 on 1 with Verne Lundquist

Updated: Monday, November 4 2013, 03:31 PM CST

Of the many places Verne Lundquist has lived and traveled in his 50-year career, he still refers to Austin as his hometown.  Lundquist, the lead play-by-play announcer for CBS Sports college football, graduated from Austin High School and was a sportscaster here as well.

Sunday night Lundquist was a speaker at the Hannon Cup, an event pitting Austin's fourteen best golf professionals against Austin's fourteen best amateurs.  I caught up with the hall of famer before he spoke at the event to talk Texas football, the SEC and of course – the Nick-Saban-to-Texas rumors.
