Circuit Of The Americas Bids For ESPN X Games

Austin's Circuit of the Americas racetrack has qualified to be a host of ESPN's X Games.

It is one of 13 cities that have bid for the Summer X Games. The other cities are Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Detroit, Fort Worth, Houston, Long Beach, Calif., Minneapolis, Montreal, New Orleans, Pasadena and Philadelphia.

ESPN says two North American cities will be selected as X Games hosts with the hosting periods running for three consecutive years.  The Games would come to Austin in 2014.
