Ex-NFL Star Turns Himself In

Updated: Friday, February 28 2014, 09:17 AM CST

Former Green Bay Packer and New Orleans Saints Player, Darren Sharper is now in police custody in connection with the accused rapes of two women.

Sharper surrendered to police in Los Angeles after a warrant for his arrest in New Orleans. In Louisiana, he and Erik Nunez faces two charges of aggravated rape.  Sharper pleaded not guilty to two counts of rape by use of drugs in California last week.

More charges against Sharper in two other states are pending. Police in Tempe, Arizona are expected to file charges against  the 38-year-old, soon.  According to prosecutors, a woman in Florida filed a sexual battery complaint against him last month.  They also say the NFL analyst is under investigation in Nevada.

Defense attorneys for Sharper disputed all of the allegations during a hearing last week. If convicted in Louisiana, he could face life in prison without parole. Sharper played in the NFL from 1997 to 2010.
