First Scrimmage Of Fall

Updated: Saturday, August 3 2013, 09:47 PM CDT

The Texas Longhorns are one step closer to kicking off the season after their first scrimmage of the fall. It was the first time for the freshman to go through that type of workout at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium and it's going to take longer for the young guys to adjust.

Mack Brown said, "Freshman, in our 15 years in general, have not played well in the first scrimmage in the stadium. I think it's because most of them are from Texas and they have looked at that stadium their entire life. The first time they are in there, they have seen their heroes play at Texas for years and it gets a little big for them."

Questions remain as to how the freshman will fit in along with which quarterback will be getting most of the snaps. Texas is in a similar position as they were last year with their quarterbacks but the team isn't feeling as much pressure to name the starter
