Former Texas WR: "Aggies Are Average"

Updated: Saturday, June 28 2014, 03:51 PM CDT

Former Longhorns wide receiver Sloan Thomas (2000-03) never lost to Texas A&M while playing for Texas. Several years after his UT career came to an end, Thomas still doesn't plan on playing second-fiddle to the Aggies.

During the 8th annual Texas Premier Camp hosted by Thomas and fellow Texas receivers  B.J. Johnson and Kwame Cavil, KEYE TV sports asked Sloan what the expectations should be for Charlie Strong's first season on the Forty Acres.

"We have to win 10 games this year," Thomas said. "I just think the fans, everyone wants to win."

Sloan then shared his thoughts on the recent success of Texas A&M since the Aggies left the Big 12 for the SEC.

"Aggies are all of a sudden cool and they're fifth in their conference," Thomas jabbed. "We lost one of the best coaches [Mack Brown] of all time. A&M, they're fifth in their conference, and everybody is bragging about them thinking they're great. They're not great, they're average - let's be honest."
