Georgetown, Cedar Park to Play for State Titles

Five area high school football teams entered the weekend one win shy of a berth in the state championship. Three kept their seasons alive.

In class 4A Division I, Georgetown defeated Rouse 42-14 to stay unbeaten on the season. The Eagles will play Denton Guyer next Saturday for the state title.

In class 4A Division II, Cedar Park reached the state championship for the first time in school history. The Timberwolves knocked-off Manor 40-14 to end the most successful season in Mustangs history. Cedar Park will face Lancaster Friday for the state championship.

In class 5A Division II, Cedar Hill needed a 42 yard field goal with just three seconds to play in regulation to beat Westlake 31-28. Georgetown, Cedar Park to Play for State Titles
