UT Looking to Push the Right Buttons

Updated: Tuesday, September 17 2013, 04:42 PM CDT

After losing in back to back weeks by 19 and 21 points, Texas is looking for anything to help cure their ills.

A trio of buttons sure would help.

Avoid the panic button, find the easy button and punch the reset button.

Texas believes that this week's tilt with Kansas State – the same Kansas State that is 7-2 against UT in the Mack Brown era – is the fresh start they need.

Johnathan Gray pointed to the fact that the "preseason" is over.  Their preseason performance has certainly eliminated them from National Championship consideration.

They enter Big 12 play talking about finding consistency.  The Longhorns rank 114th in the nation in total defense.  More telling, they are 121st in rush defense, only ahead of UMass and New Mexico State.

Texas needs to start pushing the right buttons, or this will get much worse before it gets any better.
