Georgetown, Fredricksburg Hold Holiday Ceremonies Tonight

Several Central Texas cities held holiday events on the Friday after Thanksgiving.

The annual Lighting of the Square took place in Georgetown at the Williamson County Courthouse. Entrainment began at 5:30 p.m. with the Austin Carolers. Williamson County Brown Santa offered pictures with Santa for a $7 donation. After the lighting, The Christmas Story was shown on an outdoor screen. Fredericksburg held its Holiday Lighting Ceremony at 7 p.m. The city celebrated its German heritage with a 26-foot tall wooden Christmas pyramid that was hand-crafted in Germany specifically for Fredericksburg.  Christmas pyramids are wooden carousel-like structures that have several levels depicting Christmas motifs, such as angels and manger scenes.
