Big Donations Roll In For Operation Blue Santa


The efforts to raise $70,000 for Operation Blue Santa received a huge boost Friday from several prominent Austinites.

Roy Spence and Judy Trabulsi, co-founders of GSD&M Idea City, organized a fundraising effort that has brought in $56,000 in one day.  $25,000 came from Spence, Trabulsi and others with GSD&M.  The remainder of the donations came after Trabulsi, Spence and his wife Mary sent emails to family and friends.

Thursday Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo announced that the Christmas Bureau of Austin/Travis County, a non-profit that has helped Operation Blue Santa, is under criminal investigation.

The issues with the Christmas Bureau left 6,000 needy people without any help.  Operation Blue Santa immediately began soliciting donations.
