Austin Gas Prices Down 1 Cent

Gas prices in Austin still went down this week but not very much.

A gallon of gas is now one cent cheaper – from $3.19 to $3.18, according to AAA Texas.

Throughout Texas, the price remained steady at $3.16.  Drivers in El Paso are paying the most on average at $3.24. People in Beaumont, Dallas and Ft. Worth are paying the least at $3.10.

Nationwide drivers are now paying an average of $3.41, which is 25 cents more than the average in the Lone Star State.

Gas prices have been on the decline in Texas and across the nation as a result of the transition to winter-blend fuel, which is less expensive to produce; cheaper crude oil prices; lower demand for fuel; and economic concerns.
