Over A Dozen Injured After SUV Slams Into Bus In Downtown Austin
Over a dozen people were injured Thursday afternoon after an SUV crashed into a Texas State University commuter bus in Downtown Austin.
It happened at around 3 p.m. at the intersection of Trinity and 5th Streets. Police say the bus struck and uprooted a tree after being hit by the SUV.
A total of 17 people were treated by EMS at the scene. Six people have been transported to University Medical Center Brackenridge, two with potentially serious injuries, and one person has been transported to St. David’s Hospital with a minor injury. The rest refused to be transported to a hospital.
Police have blocked off 5th Street at San Jacinto Boulevard as they continue their investigation.
