Travis County Deputy Seriously Injured In Motorcycle Crash
A Travis County Sheriff’s Deputy was seriously injured Monday afternoon after crashing his motorcycle in far West Austin.
It happened at around 2:15 p.m. on Loop 360 at the Waymaker Way intersection.
Travis County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Roger Wade says the deputy was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
He was alert and conscious as he was taken and is expected to recover, says Wade.
Investigators say a Range Rover failed to yield to the motorcycle deputy who was trying to catch up to a suspected speeder.
Traffic on Loop 360 is expected to be normal as rush hour begins.
