I-35 Crash Kills Motorcyclist In North Austin


A man was killed Sunday morning on I-35 in North Austin after crashing his motorcycle -- the second motorcycle death of the weekend.

It happened in the 12700 block of North I-35, just past the Parmer Lane exit.

Investigators say a black 2007 Honda Motorcycle with blue flames was traveling northbound when it left the roadway and struck the guardrail. 

The driver, identified as 49-year-old Scott K. Bogue, was transported to Round Rock Hospital where he died a short time later as a result of his injuries.

Another motorcyclist was killed in a crash earlier that morning in Southeast Austin. It’s unknown it either rider was wearing a helmet.

This is Austin’s 73rd traffic fatality of 2012. At this time in 2011, there were 50 traffic fatalities.
