Austin EMS Captain Killed In Traffic Accident


A captain with Austin/Travis County EMS was killed in a traffic crash early Saturday morning.

According to the Austin Fire Department, Randy Trinkle died in Fredericksburg on his way home from work.

The accident happened at 8 a.m. on Hwy 290. Fredericksburg police did not release additional information.

Trinkle had just completed 15 years of service with EMS. 

Two weeks ago, Austin-Travis County EMS Director and Chief Ernesto Rodriguez posted about Trinkle's 15 years of service.

"It was an honor to present you with your years of service certificate and your 15 year pin. Thank you for your dedication!"
