Round Rock Apartment Residents Celebrate Christmas Eve Without Water
People in more than 20 units at an apartment complex in Round Rock have no running water on Christmas Eve.
Tenants at the Enclave at La Frontera reached out to us for help, after going more than five days without water. They told us management said there were leaks that needed to be fixed.
"It's been horrible, I have a sick kid and I haven't been able to do any laundry, haven't had any running water since Wednesday night. We haven't been able to cook," said a resident of the apartments, Laura Gorfe.
It didn't take long to find frustrated tenants wanting an explanation for a leak that's cut water to building 4B.
"Each day it was, 'we hope to have it repaired by the next day by four or five', including today," said Connie Martin.
On Monday water was shut off in the entire complex, according to tenants, to make repairs, but building still has no running water.
Tenants we spoke with said they received notice of a major leak in the complex, and the property manager told them they were doing their best to solve the issue.
We got our hands on a notice that went out Sunday night from one of the tenants, explaining the leak repair was more extensive than they anticipated. It also said parts weren't available over the weekend and would have to wait until Monday the 23rd to fix the problem --but the final fix seems to be far from over.
Management is offering up a vacant apartment for residents to take showers, and while most aren't happy about the situation some are being helped by families that live close by -- but others have no other option but to stay.
