Fugitive Sex Offender Arrested In North Austin

An accused child molester on the run from New York was arrested in North Austin on Tuesday.

A task force made up of U.S. Marshals, Austin police and other area law enforcement arrested Leslie Loyd, 46, at an apartment complex in the 2800 block of Wells Branch Parkway at around 8 a.m.

He was wanted on charges that he repeatedly abused a young girl in Binghamton, New York from 2009 to 2011. Authorities say the victim was less than 9-years-old at the time of the abuse.

Lloyd was taken into custody by Travis County sheriff’s deputies pending his extradition to Broome County, Binghamton, New York.
