Water Main Break Temporarily Closes Parts Of South First Street
A broken water main caused delays on parts of South 1st Street Wednesday morning as crews worked on repairs.
One southbound lane and one northbound lane was closed on South 1st between St. Elmo and Radam Lane for crews to work safely.
According to Austin Water Spokesperson Jason Hill, the water main break was classified as a Priority One repair. Water was shut off at the break, but it's unsure how residences were impacted.
Hill also says there is some good news because it does not appear as though the break caused any damage under the roadway.
Repairs were completed at around 3:45 p.m. and the roadway was back to normal shortly thereafter.
