Bank Robbed In North Austin
A bank was robbed in North Austin Thursday afternoon.
It happened at around 4:15 p.m. at the Frost Bank at 100 East Anderson Lane, just north of Hwy 183 and west of I-35.
Police say a man entered the bank, displayed a note and demanded money. He then fled on foot toward I-35 with an undisclosed amount of cash.
No injuries were reported.
The suspect is described as –
- white male
- 5’11’’ tall
- 160 lbs
- 25-30 years of age
- light colored brown hair with a thin beard
This case remains under investigation by APD Robbery detectives. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Robbery tip line at 512-974-5092, Crime Stoppers at 512-472-TIPS or text “Tip 103” your message to CRIMES. You may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 if your tip leads to an arrest or charges being filed.
This is the 17th bank robbery of 2012. At this time in 2011, there were 24 bank robberies.
