Father, Son Injured After Scaffolding Collapse In West Travis County

A father and his son were injured Monday afternoon after a scaffolding collapse at a construction site in west Travis County on Bee Cave Road.

According to Austin-Travis County EMS, it happened in the 9400 block of FM 2244 at Field Guides, a bird touring company next to the Cuernavaca Drive intersection.

The two were injured after falling more than 25 feet. Their injuries are not considered life-threatening, but a STAR Flight helicopter transported both of them to a hospital as a precaution.

A spokesperson for the Travis County Sheriff's Office says the two were putting up an awning when they fell from a ladder on the scaffolding.
